Maximum privacy and anonymity

Files are temporarily processed on the PDFnik server in Germany, are not sent to external AI, OCR or PDF providers, and are never used to train models.

Questions and answers

Before uploading a PDF

Do I need to register?

No. Core features work in guest mode. The Sign in button opens a separate sign-in and registration dialog.

Where is my document stored?

On the PDFnik server in Germany, European Union, only for the temporary session. There is no permanent library of user PDFs.

When is the file deleted?

Access closes after manual deletion, the download lifecycle ends, 15 minutes of inactivity or the 2-hour hard session limit. Physical cleanup takes up to 15 minutes.

Do you send PDFs to other services?

No. OCR runs on our server through Tesseract, and document contents are never used to train models.

Will the original file change?

No. The original remains unchanged and processing creates a separate result to download.
