Terms of Service
These Terms govern the free PDF Editor service. By using the website, creating an account or uploading a PDF, you agree to these Terms and the linked Privacy Policy.
The service is not available to users located in the Russian Federation. Files are temporarily processed on PDFnik infrastructure in Germany, European Union. Keep your own source copy and do not upload a document whose disclosure or processing failure would be unacceptable.
1. Operator and service status
NDK DIGITAL LLP, company number OC460979, operates PDF Editor from Stoney Works, 8 Stoney Lane, London, United Kingdom, SE19 3BD. Contact: support@pdfnik.com.
PDF Editor is a free service ready for use. Tools marked as unavailable or coming soon are not part of the ready service; independent security, accessibility and legal reviews are not complete.
2. Eligibility and territory
- You must be at least 18 and legally able to accept these Terms.
- You must not be located in the Russian Federation or act for a person located there.
- You must select your country truthfully when registering; Russia cannot be selected.
- Choosing the Russian interface changes language only and does not change territorial eligibility.
- The service does not determine connection country through IP geolocation.
3. Your document and processing permission
You retain your rights in the PDF and result. You must own the document or have sufficient authority to upload it, process it and process any third-party data it contains.
You give the operator only the limited, temporary technical permission needed to perform the selected operation, secure the session, provide the result and delete related objects. This permission does not allow advertising, AI training, resale or unrelated use of document content.
4. Prohibited content and conduct
- Illegal material or a document you have no right to process.
- Special-category, criminal-offence or children’s data.
- State secrets, professional secrets or documents requiring a higher assurance service.
- Malware, PDF bombs, destructive payloads or files intended to attack parsers or infrastructure.
- Unauthorised bypass of passwords, DRM, signatures or third-party access controls.
- Attacks, scraping that harms the service, excessive automation, quota bypass or credential sharing.
5. Features and results
The service may validate, display, edit, merge, split, organise, recognise, convert, protect or redact PDF files according to the status shown for each tool.
OCR, conversion, redaction, form handling and existing-text editing can be incomplete or inaccurate. You must open the result in the required viewer and verify content, layout, signatures, links, accessibility and removed information before relying on it.
6. Free limits and abuse prevention
File, page, OCR, storage, concurrency and queue limits are shown before or during the operation. Billing is disabled and no payment is requested to remove a limit.
The operator may temporarily reduce limits, delay work or disable a tool to protect stability, security, licensing or other users. Attempts to evade limits may end the session or account.
7. Temporary storage and deletion
- Inactive sessions expire after 15 minutes and have a hard maximum of 2 hours.
- A prepared download has a 15-minute retry period.
- Related content is physically deleted no later than 15 minutes after the deletion event.
- Use “Delete now” for immediate access revocation; closing a tab alone is not a guaranteed deletion signal.
- Download the result before expiry. Deleted files cannot be restored by support.
8. Account and security
Keep your password and session secure. Do not share service or privileged credentials. Support will not ask for your PDF password, account password, cookie, signed URL or admin credentials.
The operator may revoke a compromised, abusive or territorially ineligible session and may request proportionate account verification without requesting the PDF itself.
9. Availability, changes and suspension
Service availability may be interrupted. A feature may be disabled because of an error, vulnerability, load, licensing issue or data-protection concern. Material changes to these Terms receive a new effective date.
Access may be suspended for prohibited content, attacks, quota evasion, false country declaration or other breach. Content deletion continues under the Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual property
You keep rights in your files. The operator and licensors keep rights in the website, service, brand and software. Open-source components remain subject to their notices and licences.
Feedback may be used to improve the service, but feedback does not grant rights to the content of your PDF.
11. Service limitations
The service does not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free layout, OCR, conversion, redaction or compatibility. It does not replace legal, medical, financial, archival or other professional review.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or responsibility that applicable law does not allow the parties to exclude. Always retain an independent source copy.
12. Responsibility
You are responsible for the legality of the upload, the selected operation and checking the result. The operator is responsible to the extent required by applicable law and does not use the service’s free status as an exclusion of security or data-protection duties.
Any limitation of indirect or consequential loss applies only where lawful and does not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Governing law and complaints
These Terms use the laws of England and Wales as the operator’s working governing-law model, subject to mandatory rights that cannot be excluded. First send a complaint to support@pdfnik.com.
The service does not submit to Russian territorial availability by offering a Russian translation. It does not claim that these Terms override any law that is mandatorily applicable to a particular situation.
14. Ending use
You may stop using the service, delete the active file and request account deletion. The operator may terminate access under these Terms or discontinue the service. Session content is deleted under the stated schedule; content-free records may remain for their limited security or legal period.
